RESOLUTION NO. 2007-409
A Resolution Recognizing the Month of May 2007 as
"Health Care Reform Awareness Month"
WHEREAS, Many Wisconsin residents, including those that work full time, do not have
health insurance at some point during the year; and
WHEREAS, Health care costs continue to rise significantly; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin employers spend a considerable amount of money for
employees' health care premiums; and
WHEREAS, some Americans have problems paying medical bills and may go bankrupt
because of health care related bills; and
WHEREAS, a substantial number of Americans are uninsured;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that the month of May 2007 be designated as "Health Care Reform
Awareness Month;" and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council, that a copy of this resolution
be presented to the AARP Wisconsin office in recognition of the need for health care
reform in Wisconsin and in an effort to assure that all Wisconsin residents have quality,
affordable and comprehensive health care.
