An Ordinance renumbering Section 5.04.170 Violation--Penalty and creating Section
5.04.170 Accident Research Fee to charge and collect a fee for completing accident research
requests from insurance companies and other parties acting on behalf of individuals
involved in traffic accidents in Janesviile, with a penalty for violations thereof as set forth
in Janesville General Ordinance Chapter 5.04.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 5.04.170 Violation -Penalty of the Code of Genera[ Ordinances of
the City of Janesville is hereby renumbered to Section 5.04.180 Violation --Penalty.
SECTION II. Section 5.04.170 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby created to read as follows:
"Section 5.04.170. Accident Research Fee. For researching signalization patterns,
traffic configuration, and other special requests requiring effort above and beyond the law
related to vehicle accidents within any public road right-of-way, the City of Janesville will
charge a minimum fee $150, based on staff time required to fulfill such requests. This
ordinance and its fees shall take effect upon adoption."
