ORDINANCE NO. 2007-358
An ordinance amending the building code to require a building permit for the
installation of any exterior windows located in any Historic Overlay District which
is not currently required with a penalty of not less than $25 nor more than $500
together with the cost of prosecution for each violation, incarceration upon
nonpayment, each day's continuance constituting a separate violation, and
injunctive relief.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.01.100(B) of the Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows
(B)Historic Overlay District. In addition to the permits required for
alterations and changes which affect buildings, any structure included in
any Historic Overlay District shall be required to obtain a building permit
for the installation of siding and windows; however, there shall be no
permit fee required.
