ORDINANCE NO. 2007-359
An Ordinance allowing non-copper lateral water service with penalties for violations thereof as set
forth in Chapter 13.04.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 13.04.060 D of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby amended to
read as follows:
13.04.060 Underground work to be done by city ~ Exception.
D. All water service pipe laid underground between the main stop box and the meter of2" in
diameter or less shall be of the materials listed in Table 84.30-7 and Comm. 84.30 (4)( d) of
the Wisconsin Administrative Code. All pipe laid underground between main and stop
box shall be Type K soft copper. All pipe larger than 2" shall be cast or ductile iron pipe
meeting the standards of the American Water Warks Association (A WW A) for water service.
Where Exception: when the water main is made of a non-metallic material (plastic pipe), the
water service may also be made of a non-metallic material (plastic pipe) to a maximum size of
8" as approved by the City and State plumbing codes Wisconsin Administrative Code.
