A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building
on October 17, 2006.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Tim Wellnitz at 6:30 p.m.
Present: Council President Tim Wellnitz, Council members Brien (arrived 6:45), Brunner,
DeGarmo (arrived 6:35), Tom Wellnitz and Williams.
Absent: Council member Addie.
The City Council reviewed the following proposed 2007 budgets: Janesville Area
Convention and Visitor's Bureau (JACVB), Public Works, Sanitation Fund, Industrial
Waste, Water Utility, Wastewater Utility, Storm Water Utility, Vehicle Operation and
Maintenance, Community and Economic Development, Neighborhood Services, Insurance
Fund, Transit, Major Capital Projects-Debt Fund and Public Works Improvement Program-
Assessable. During the review of the budgets, the City Council asked various questions.
Council member Brien was not present when the Council discussed Block Grants.
Council member Tom Wellnitz requested information on the Mineral Point Road
reconstruction project and whether utility laterals would be placed in the right-of-away.
City Manager Sheiffer stated that the Administration would prepare a report on building
maintenance at the library. Council member Brunner suggested that Riverside Street be
repaved from Lincoln Street to Jackson Street.
Matters not on the Agenda. There were none.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 9:07 p.m.
