A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building
on October 12,2006, at 6:30 p.m.
Council President Tim Wellnitz called the meeting to order. Present: Council President
Tim Wellnitz, Councilmembers Addie, Brunner, DeGarmo (6:40 p.m.), and Williams.
Absent: Councilmembers Brien and Tom Wellnitz.
The City Manager explained how the Accounting Department allocates costs so we have
an actual cost for services. He stated financial planning is ongoing and anticipates a
$750,000 short fall each year to stay within our levy limits. The 2007 budget includes
funding for the Certified Public Manager's program and other professional development.
The City Council reviewed the proposed 2007 budget which included: General Fund,
Public Safety, Library, Leisure Services, Tallman House, Golf Courses and JATV12.
During the review of the budgets, the City Council asked various questions and did not
take any action. Council member Williams requested the Administration check the cost of a
subscription to the Municipality magazine.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 10: 1 0 p.m.
