RESOLUTION NO. 2006-358
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT
OF THE GOLF COURSE LEASE
FROM CROWN GOLF PROPERTIES, L.P.
TO CK GOLF PARTNERS, L.L.C.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville executed a ten year lease with Crown Golf
Properties, L.P. and said lease expires on December 31 2010; and
WHEREAS, the parent company of Crown Golf Properties, L.P., the Henry Crown
Company, has elected to dissolve all of its golf course operations and leases; and
WHEREAS, Crown Golf Properties, L.P. is recommending the golf course lease be
assigned to CK Golf Partners, L.L.C; and
WHEREAS, the partners of CK Golf Partners, L.L.C. were previously employed by
Crown Golf Properties, L.P. and are familiar with the golf course operations in Janesville; and
WHEREAS, CK Golf Partners, L.L.C. will be affiliated with the Kemper Sports
Company; and
WHEREAS, CK Golf Partners, L.L.C. has agreed to accept the golf course lease
assignment with the existing contract language for the balance of the lease term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that they hereby authorize the assignment of the golf course lease for Riverside
and Blackhawk Golf Courses from Crown Golf Properties, L.P. to CK Golf Partners, L.L.C. for
the balance of the lease term or December 31, 2010; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designee(s), on behalf
of the City of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft, modify,
review, execute, renew and/or extend this lease and enter into additional agreements,
records, file and/or make minor modifications and/or amendments to any and all documents,
papers, forms, and agreements, and to take whatever other actions as the City Manager may
determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the
intent of this resolution and/or lease assignment.
