RESOLUTION NO# 2006-334
ACTION ON A PROPOSED RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT A DONATION OF $35,000 TO INSTALL A NEW FLOOR
AT THE JANESVILLE SENIOR CENTER
WHEREAS, the floor in the Riverview Room at the Janesville Senior Center is in poor
condition and needs replacing; and
WHEREAS, this floor requires high levels of maintenance to keep it attractive,
functional and safe to conduct programming; and
WHEREAS, an anonymous citizen has offered to donate $35,000 to the City of
Janesville to install a replacement floor in the Riverview Room; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Janesvillle and the Community to
accept this donation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Janesville Common Council
authorizes the City Manager to accept this donation, place the funds in a designated reserve
account and proceed to the replace the floor in a timely fashion; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designee(s) on behalf
of the City of Janesville is/are hereby directed to supervise the construction and maintenance
of this public improvement to ensure it complies with all construction, operations and
maintenance standards and to take whatever other actions as the City Manager and/or his
designee(s) may determine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or desirable to
effectuate the intent of this resolution and/or project.
