ORDINANCE NO. 2006-339
An ordinance annexing territory in Section 16, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the majority of the owners of the land within such territory
proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCil OF THE CITY OF JANESVlllE DO ORDAIN
AS FOllOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PARTOFTHE NW.1/4, NE.~, SE. ~AND SW. ~OF SECTION 16, T.3N., R.13E. OFTHE
4TH P.M., HARMONY TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN.
Described as follows: Commencing at the South ~ corner of said Section 16; thence
N.oo54'58"W. along the North-South Centerline of said Section, 1319.47 feet to the North line of
"Prairie Wood Estates Second Addition", also being at the place of beginning for the land to be
herein described; thence N.88°34'43'W. along said North line, 659.10 feet to the NW. corner of
said "Prairie Wood Estates Second Addition"; thence N.oo56'26"W. along the East line of
"Tenth Addition to Fox Ridge Estates" and "Eleventh Addition to Fox Ridge Estates" and
"Twelfth Addition to Fox Ridge Estates", 1319.17 feet to the NE. corner of said "Twelfth
Addition"; thence N.oo56'31 "W. along the East line of "Sixth Addition to Fox Ridge Estates",
659.53 feet to the Westerly extension of the North line of the South ~ of the SW. 1/4 of the NE.
~ of said Section; thence S.88°36'10"E. along said extended line and said North line, 1982.61
feet to the East line of the SW. ~ of the NE. ~ of said Section; thence S.oo57'16"E. along said
South line, 659.38 feet to the East-West Centerline of said Section; thence S.oo55'18"E. along
the East line of the NW. ~ of the SE. ~ of said Section; 1319.88 feet to the South line of the
NW. ~ of the SE. ~ of said Section; thence N.88°35'23"W. along said South line, 1323.24 feet
to the place of beginning.

SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SEcrfONUI. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 5 of the
City of ~nesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.

SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
