ORDINANCE NO. 2006-333
An ordinance annexing territory in Section 16, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCil OF THE CITY OF JANESVlllE DO ORDAIN
AS FOllOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE EAST}t2 OF THE SE.1/4 OF SECTION 16, T.3N., R.13E. OF THE 4TH P.M.,
HARMONY TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN.
Described as follows: Commencing at the SE corner of said Section; thence N.88°34'40"W.
along the South Line of the SE.1/4 of said Section, 33.03 feet to the West Right-of-Way Line of
Town Hall Road also being at the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence
N.88°34'40"W. continuing along said South Line, 1290.35 feet to the East Line of Prairie Wood
Estates Seventh Addition; thence N.Oo55'13"W. along said East line and along the West line of
the East }t2 of the SE.1/4 of said Section, 2639.35 feet to the East-West Centerline of said
Section; thence S.88°35'35"E. along said East-West Centerline, 1290.08 feet to said West Line
of Town Hall Road; thence S.Oo55'32"E. along said West Line 1807.76 feet to the North Line of
a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 5, Pages 36 and 37; thence S.89°54'33"W.
918.18 feet to the NW Corner of said Certified Survey Map; thence S.Oo55'32"E. 182.71 feet to
the SW Corner of said Certified Survey Map; thence N.89°54'33"E. along the South Line of said
Certified Survey Map, 655.62 feet to a jog in said South Line; thence S.Oo55'32"E. along said
jog, 120.15 feet; thence N.89°54'33"E. continuing along said South Line, 262.56 feet to said
West Line of Town Hall Road; thence S.Oo55'32"E. along said West Line, 529.08 feet to the
place of beginning.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 5 of the
City of Janesville.

SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
