REVISED ORDINANCE NO. 2006-328
An ordinance amending the City's Subdivision Regulations regarding street right-of-way
and street width.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 17.40.060 C. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby amended to read as follows:
17.40.060 Riqht-of-Wav Width Requirements.
C. Minor and local streets, seventy (70) feet except that right-of-way widths
of Sixty (60) feet may be permitted when recommended by the City
Engineer and approved by the Plan Commission.
SECTION II. Section 17.40.065 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby repealed and recreated to read as follows:
17.40.065 Street width applications.
A. Streets having widths of 28 feet measured from face of curb to face of
curb may be approved as determined appropriate by the City Engineer.
Parking should be restricted on one side of the street and designated at
the time of preliminary plat approval.
B. Street widths less than 28 feet measured from face of curb to face of curb
may be permitted when recommended by City Engineering and approved
by the Plan Commission if on-street parking is restricted, access is limited
and physical or topographic constraints make such a lesser width
appropriate.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
