2000-67 ORDINANCE NO. 2000-67
An ordinance annexing territory in Section 14, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such tcrTilory proposed
to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE NE.l/4 AND PART OF THE NW.1/4 OF SECTION 14, T.3N., R. 12E. OF THE
4TM P.M., JANESVILLE TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS
FOLLOWS: Commencing at the North ~A comer of said Section 14, thence South (assumed)
along the North-South centerline of said Section, 47.32 feet to the South R.O.W. (right-of-way)
line of USH 14, also being at the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence
S.89°39'05"E. along said South R.O.W. line, 1246.33 feet to a jog in said South R.O.W. line;
thence S.0°19'50"W. 60.0 feet; thence S.89°40'10"E. continuing along said South R.O.W. line,
205.71 feet to the NW. comer of Lot 1 of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 16,
Pages 425 thru 427; thence S.0°19'50"W. 993.78 feet to the SW. comer of said Lot 1; thence

the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence N.24°26'55"E. 100.0 feet;
thence N.77°20'15"E. 474.88 feet; thence South and Easterly, along a curve convexed to the
South, 176.86 feet; having a radius of 70.0 feet and a chord bearing S.85°02'35"E. 133.43 feet;
thence S.67°25'30"E. 232.05 feet; thence S.0°32'40"W. 1178.0 feet to Meander Comer No. 1;
thence continuing S.0°32'40"W. 28 feet, more or less to the North back of Rock River; thence
Northwesterly, along said North bank, 590 feet, more or less to a point; thence N.0°00' 15"E. 9
feet, more or less to Meander Comer No. 2, said Meander Comer No. 2 located from Meander
Comer No. 1 as tbllows: beginning at Meander Comer No. 1; thence N.69°00'30"W. 579.57
feet to Meander Corner No. 2; thence continuing N.0°00' 15"E. 739.52 feet; thence
N.65°33'05"W. 329.15 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 15.4 acres, more or less.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Janesville and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 27 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect irmnediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
