An ordinance am~exin~ territory in Section $, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.~., Tow~ of
Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed
to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are two electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WItEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDA1N AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
A part of the NW. 1/4 of the SE.l/4 of Section 8, T.3N., R.13E., of the Fourth Principal Meridian,
being in the Town of Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Beginning at an iron pipe monument on the east and west quarter line of said section, 105.9 feet
east of the stone monument at the center of said section; running thence East along the said
Quarter line 479.3 feet to an iron pipe monument on the westerly 33 foot line of State Trunk
Highway No. 26; thence S.50°29'West along the westerly line of said highway, 370 feet to an
iron pipe monument; thence North 39031' West 303.9 feet to the place of beginning. Excepting
lands conveyed to the State of Wisconsin for highway purposes in Warranty Deed dated June 29,
1961 and recorded July 10, 1961 in Volume 18 of Records, Page 279 as Document No. 636474.
Further excepting lands conveyed to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation in
Warranty Deed dated June 12, 1996 and recorded July 11, 1996 on Card 865, Image 184 as
Document No. 1300633.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.

SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 27 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are four residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect itmnediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
