2000-61 ORDINANCE NO. 2000-61
An ordinance annexing territory in Section 33, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed
to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE SE.l/4 OF SECION 33, T.3N., R. 12E. OF THE 4TM P.M., JANESVILLE
TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSiN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Commencing at the East ¼ comer of said Section 33; thence S. 1 °14'W. along the East line of the
SE. 1/4 of said Section, 2076.53 feet; thence N.84°30'W. 773.95 feet to the SW. comer of
Rockport Ridge Estates Second Addition, also being at the place of beginning for the land to be
herein described; thence S.0°25'50"E. along the West line o£a Certified Survey Map as recorded
in Volume 13, Pages 152 and 153, a distance of 295.18 feet to the NE. comer of Lot 1 of a
Certified Survey Map as recorded in Volume 17, Pages 115 and 116; thence S.89°34'10"W.
140.0 feet to the NW. comer of said Lot 1; thence N.47°55'35"W. 436.89 feet; thence
N.40°lS'40"W. 608.76 feet; thence N.49°41 '20"E. 942.76 feet to the existing City Limit Line;
thence S.41 °48'10"E. along said City Limit Line, 355.12 feet; thence S.49°41 '20"W. continuing
along said City Limit Line, 137.84 feet; thence S.0°25'50"E. continuing along said City Limit
Line, 716.78 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 15.93 acres.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Janesville and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.

SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 34 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
