11-28-90PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN SPECIAL MEETING 28 November 1990 Vol. 40 No. 21A APPROVED 12-24-90 Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville, held in the Municipal Building 28 November 1990 at 7:00 p.m. Council President Collins called the meeting to order. Present: Council President Collins, Councilmembers Pierson, McLean, Schneider, Stehura and Stockwell. Absent: Councilmember Pulliam. OLD BUSINESS 1. Approval of a resolution adopting the 1991 Budget and establishing the 1990 gross tax rate and appropriating funds for expenditures by the City of Janesville for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1991. Councilmember McLean moved to adopt said resolution as presented, seconded by Council President Collins and adopted unanimously. (File Resolution No. 90-1323) Councilmember Pulliam arrived at 7:08 p.m. NEW BUSINESS 1. Matters not on the agenda. City Manager Sheiffer stated demolition of the public works building would be discussed at the next Council meeting. 2. Consideration of a motion to convene into closed session pursuant to Section 19.85 (1) (g) Wisconsin Statute, for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved. Councilmember McLean moved to convene into closed session pursuant to Section 19.85 (1) (g), Wisconsin Statute, for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved. Motion seconded by Councilmember Pulliam and passed by the following vote: Aye: Councilmembers Pierson, McLean, Schneider, Stehura, Stockwell and Pulliam. Pass: Council President Collins. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:09 p.m. to reconvene in closed session.
