Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville, held
in the Municipal Building 4 November 1991 at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Schneider.
Present: Council President Schneider, Councilmembers Pierson,
O'Leary, Noll, Stehura, Collins and Brien.
OLD BUSINESS
1. A proposed resolution directing the City Manager to make
application to the County of Rock for exemption from the Library
Tax Levy.
Councilmember Pierson moved to adopt said resolution, seconded by
Councilmember Collins and passed unanimously. (File Resolution No.
91-1432)
2. The Council reviewed the leisure services, ice arena, golf
courses, VOM, technical services, public works administration
programs, waste management and street maintenance and repair
budgets.
The Council requested that the following information be provided to
them:
Councilmember Pierson requested a comparison of the special
events line item between 1990 actual and 1992 budgeted.
Councilmember Pierson requested additional cost information on
the traxler park skating operation.
Councilmember Collins requested that the administration
redistribute the memo on weed killing alternatives.
Councilmember Pierson requested information on the school
district and county fund balance.
Councilmember Pierson requested information on how the
Janesville School District will handle the TIF supplemental aid.
Councilmember Schneider requested a list of recreation
programs, showing the revenues and expenditures.by program.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Matters not on the agenda. Council President Schneider asked
the Council if anyone was interested in co-sponsoring a hotel/motel
tax increase ordinance with him. No Councilmember offered to be a
co-sponsor.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50
p.m.
