All Councilmembers were present.. Also present were Steven
Sheiffer, City Manager; Herb Stinski, Director of Finance and
Administration; Tom Rogers, Assistant City Manager; Bob Boldt,
Director of Public Services; and John Whitcomb, Recycling
Coordinator.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Jeffrey Wolff of Virchow, Krause & Company, the City's
Auditors, was present. The City Council asked a number of
questions centered on the comment in the Management Letter about
the booking of deficits in funds and its impact on the
Undesignated Fund Balance. The City Council reviewed with the
Administration the general financial condition of the City, and
the general approach for the preparation of the 1992 Budget.
Mr. Sheiffer indicated that his goal would be to prepare a very
tight budget, given the potential loss in Shared Revenues, but to
maintain existing service levels.
The city Council reviewed the Yard Waste Study. The City Council
indicated by consensus that they were in general agreement with
the approach. Councilmember Collins indicated that he had some
interest in a brush collection in the spring, and Councilmember
Brien in the feasibility of chipping Christmas Trees.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:D0 p.m.
