03-05-91PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN STUDY SESSION APPROVED March 5, 1991 18 MARCH 1991 Study Session of the city Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building 5 March 1991 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Council President Collins. Present: Council President Collins, Councilmembers McLean, Schneider, Stehura, Stockwell and Pulliam, Tom Rogers, Michael King, Doug Venable, Steven Sheiffer. Absent: Councilmember-Pierson. The City Council reviewed the Goals, Objectives and 1991/1992 Priority Projects as presented by the Administration. Discussion followed on a number of the items listed as well as on a tree planting ordinance, natural lawns ordinance, and the efforts to find a buyer who would rehabilitate the burned water building on River Street. The City Council also reviewed the downtown revitalization efforts and the responsibility for the Council in setting the overall direction. A general discussion followed on the City Manager's service on the Plan Commission with a number of Councilmembers indicating it would be appropriate for him to be replaced by a citizen or Councilmember and others indicating they felt the service should continue. The City Manager indicated he would give the matter further thought and potentially raise the issue with the new Council in September. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
