RESOLUTION NO. 2026-2434
A resolution recognizing Aaron Burdick for his loyal and conscientious service to the
City of Janesville as a City Councilmember.
WHEREAS, Aaron Burdick served the City of Janesville from 2022 to 2026 as a member of the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Burdick served as Council Vice President in 2024 and as Council President in
2025 and 2026; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Burdick served as a member of the Community Development Authority,
Downtown Janesville, Inc., the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, and the Library Board
of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, the City Council accomplished numerous initiatives, including the
construction of the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center, the acquisition of the former
General Motors/JATCO properties, the hiring of City Manager Kevin Lahner, the approval of TIF
district extensions to support new and affordable housing, the reconstruction of the Palmer
Wading Pool, and the replacement of lead and required iron water service laterals to protect
public health; and
WHEREAS, during his terms in office, Mr. Burdick contributed to major community investments,
including the sale of City lots and funding allocation to the Boys and Girls Club of Janesville for
the construction of a new facility, allocating funding for the new Children’s Museum of Rock
County, and substantial economic development efforts, including the expansion of the City’s
Innovation Park; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Burdick’s leadership, authenticity, and dedication to the community and its
residents characterized his service and contributed to making Janesville a vibrant and diverse
community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Burdick performed the duties of a City Councilmember with exemplary
commitment, honesty, and integrity.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Janesville presents
this commendation to Aaron Burdick in sincere appreciation for his loyal and conscientious
service to the City of Janesville.
