Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville, held in the Municipal
Building 12 November 1987 at 7:00 p.m.
Council President Pulliam called the meeting to order.
Present: Council President Pulliam, Councilmembers Mittness, Collins, Stockwell, Stehura
and Pierson. Absent: Councilmember McLean.
Council President Pulliam stated that the purpose of the special meeting was to continue
the review of the Proposed 1988 Budget for the City of Janesville.
The following budget items were reviewed: Leisure Services, Golf Courses - pages 122 &
123, Public Works, Vehicle Operations and Maintenance - pages 141 & 142.
The proposed budget for the Janesville Public Library was presented by Library Director
Karen Krueger and supported by Boardmembers Sima Wexler and David Griffiths. Council
President Pulliam made a motion to reduce the library tax levy by $25,000. Motion
seconded by Councilmember Pierson and passed by the following vote: Aye: Council
President Pulliam, Councilmembers Collins, Stockwell, Stehura and Pierson. Nay: Council -
member Mittness.

Council President Pulliam stated that only one straw vote was taken to reduce the library
tax levy by $25,000.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:00 a.m.
These minutes are not official until approved by the City Council.
