1987-09-21 Special MeetingPROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN SPECIAL MEETING 21 September 1987 Vol. 38 No. 14 Approved 5 October 1987 The meeting was called to order by Council President Pulliam. The City Council considered the sale of 7.5 acres of land in the City's Industrial Park to Keith and June Holmes for the expansion of their business known as Precision Drawn Metals, Inc. Councilmember Dan Collins moved the Council declare its intent to sell and refer to the Plan Commission the sale of Lot 21 in the City's Industrial Park to Mr.. and Mrs. Holmes with the restriction that the Owner shall not divide the property, nor sell, lease, assign, or in any manner convey any divided portion of the property without the prior written permission of the Common Council of the City of Janesville. The motion was seconded by Councilmember. Jim McLean and adopted with Councilmembers Collins, McLean, Stockwell, Mittness and Council President Pulliam voting aye. Nay: Councilmembers Stehura and Pierson. The City Council further considered the sale of a lot in the City's Industrial Park to a manufacturing prospect. The City Administration pointed out that the propsect was considering other privately -owned lots. This industry would require significant water and sewer capacity making it necessary to upgrade the water distribution system and the sewer collection system depending on the site chosen by the manufacturing firm. The Council authorized the City Manager to inform the prospect that the City wanted the firm to locate in Janesville and that the City was prepared to make those commitments necessary to resolve utility, land acquisition and land sale issues.
