Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville, held in the Municipal
Building 9 November 1988 at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by Council President McLean.
Present: Council President McLean, Councilmembers Pierson, Mittness, Stockwell, Stehura,
Pulliam and Collins. (Councilmember Mittness arrived at 6:05 p.m. and Councilmember
Stockwell arrived at 6:15 p.m.)
REVIEW OF THE 1989 PROPOSED CITY BUDGET
Councilmembers reviewed and discussed the following division and departmental budgets.
Public Services. Water Utility - pages 140 through 142, Wastewater Utility - pages 143
through 145.
Public Works. Vehicle Operation and Maintenance - pages 147 through 149. Technical
Services - pages 152 and 153.
Debt Fund. Major Capital Projects - pages 156 through 158.
Public Works., Public Works Improvement Program Assessable - pages 159 and 160.
Debt Service - pages 161 through 164.
Leisure Services. Ice Arena - pages 125 and 126.
Beverly Stuka, 515 North Pine Street, was allowed to address the Council on behalf
of the Friends of the Ice Arena as to the future operations of the ice arena. Mrs.
Stuka presented to the Council a copy of a letter that the Friends of the Ice Arena
had received from Leisure Services, thanking them for their support.
Leisure Services. Administration - pages 113 and 114, Recreation - pages 115 and
116, Aquatic Program - pages 117 and 118, Parks - pages 119 and 120, Senior Citizen
Center - pages 121 and 122, The Tallman Restoration - pages 123 and 124, Golf Courses
- pages 127 and 128.
Councilmember Mittness left the meeting at 9:55 p.m.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:57 p.m.
