October 25, 2021 TO: City Council FROM: Mike Payne, City Engineer SUBJECT: Consideration and action to award contract for Bid Schedule “E” - 2021: C2021-14 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining Relates to Strategic Plan Strategic Goal - Infrastructure
This contract supports the City’s efforts to maintain existing infrastructure and continue to provide municipal services. Executive Summary Bids for C2021-14 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining were opened on October 6, 2021. City Recommendation The City recommends awarding contracts C2021-14 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining as well as expressing the intent to borrow funds as outlined in the memo. Suggested Motion I move to award contract C2021-14 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining, as outlined in the memo. Background C2021-14 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Lining – For furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work necessary for the cured-in-place (CIP) trenchless lining rehabilitation and selective joint grouting of approximately 26,200 LF of 8”-27” diameter sanitary and storm sewer in various locations. There were five (5) qualified plan holders. The contract estimate was $1,103,107.00. Staff
received two (2) bids with Visu Sewer Inc. providing the lowest bid. The Engineering Division is recommending award of this contract to Visu Sewer, Inc. of Pewaukee, WI for a total bid amount of $942,771.15.
