Bids for C2016-15 CTH G Improvements - were opened on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. The low bid was found to be responsive and acceptable. City Recommendation The City’s recommended course of action is to award contract C2016-15 CTH G Improvements to the low bidder and for the City Council to express their intent to include the necessary $xxx,xxx in the 2016 Note Issue. Suggested Motion I move to award contract C2016-15 CTH G Improvements to the low bidder as described in the memo and for the City Council to express the intent to include the necessary $xxx,xxx in the 2016 Note Issue. Background C2016-15 CTH G Improvements – Includes construction and all the work necessary for construction of approximately 16,000 CY of excavation; 22,000 CY of roadway embankment;
clearing and grubbing; 600 LF of culvert pipe; 7000 LF of curb and gutter; 8500 SF of sidewalk; 4000 TONS of HMA Pavement and associated aggregate base; 2 intersection signal systems; 11 luminaires; 50,000 SY of seeding, landscaping, and erosion control.
There were five (5) prequalified plan holders. The contract estimate was $1,650,000. We opened two (2) bids for this project, with Rock Road Companies, Inc. providing the low bid. The

Engineering Division is recommending award of this contract to Rock Road Companies, Inc., Janesville, WI for a total bid amount of $1,363,026.49.
