provide municipal services.
Executive Summary Bids for C2020-12 Salt Brine Building / Landfill Building Construction and C2020-13 Pistol Range Building Improvements were opened May 6, 2020. City Recommendation The City recommends awarding contracts C2020-12 Salt Brine Building / Landfill Building Construction and C2020-13 Pistol Range Building Improvements as well as expressing the intent to borrow funds as outlined in the memo. Suggested Motion I move to award contracts C2020-12 Salt Brine Building / Landfill Building Construction and C2020-13 Pistol Range Building Improvements as outlined in the memo. Background C2020-12 Salt Brine Building / Landfill Building Construction – For furnishing all labor,
materials, and equipment and doing all the work necessary for the Brine Storage and Gatehouse located at 2200 U.S. Hwy 51 N, Janesville, WI 53547. The bid will include construction of a new 400 S.F. brine manufacturing building with exterior tank storage and containment. In addition, the project will construct a new 200 S.F. Landfill Building gate house with toilet room at the entrance to the City’s composting dump site. There were six (6) qualified plan holders. The contract estimate was $287,000.00. Staff received five (5) bids with KSW Construction Corporation providing the lowest bid. The Engineering Division is recommending award of this contract to KSW Construction Coroporation of Verona, WI for a total bid amount of $349,454.00.

C2020-13 Pistol Range Building Improvements – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all work necessary for complete safety improvements at the city’s indoor pistol range including replacement of the existing steel plate bullet trap with a rubber bullet trap
system; replacement of the range ventilation system components; replacement of the range lighting and electrical components; miscellaneous building wall demolition and infill; approximately 450 square feet of concrete flatwork with approximately 90 linear feet of integral
concrete cut off wall; supply and installation of a direct digital control system; and miscellaneous construction. There were four (4) qualified plan holders. The contract estimate was $543.830.00. Staff received four (4) bids with Gilbank Construction Inc. providing the lowest bid. The Engineering
