provide municipal services.
Executive Summary Bids for C2020-8 Street Construction / Reconstruction and C2020-9 Chip Sealing were opened March 25, 2020. City Recommendation The City recommends awarding contracts C2020-8 Street Construction / Reconstruction and C2020-9 Chip Sealing as well as expressing the intent to borrow funds as outlined in the memo. Suggested Motion I move to award contracts C2020-8 Street Construction / Reconstruction and C2020-9 Chip Sealing as outlined in the memo. Background C2020-8 Street Construction / Reconstruction – For furnishing all labor, materials, and
equipment and doing all the work necessary for approximately 850 LF of street reconstruction on Kennedy Road, approximately 1,450 LF of new street and utilities on Myrtle Way, and an extension of sanitary sewer and water main along Delavan Drive. More specifically, the roadway work includes asphaltic pavement, crushed aggregate base course, curb and gutter, multi-use trail, street lighting, and associated traffic control, erosion control, and restoration. Utility work includes approximately 1,300 LF sanitary sewer, 2,500 LF water main, and 1,900 LF storm sewer. There were six (6) qualified plan holders. The contract estimate was $1,700,700.00. Staff received two (2) bids with R.T. Fox Contractors, Inc.. providing the lowest bid. The Engineering Division is recommending award of this contract to R.T. Fox Contractors, Inc.. of Edgerton, WI for a total bid amount of $1,465,751.00.

C2020-9 Chip Sealing – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all work
necessary for providing approximately 28,000 SY of chip seal application, 12,000 LF of pavement markings, inlet protection, traffic control, and all other necessary incidental construction to complete the work as specified. There were four (4) qualified plan holders. The contract estimate was $107,878.40. Staff received two (2) bids with Scott Construction, Inc. providing the lowest bid. The Engineering Division is recommending award of the based bid and alternate 2 to Scott Construction, Inc. of Lake Delton, WI for a total bid amount of $79,437.21.
