CD PART 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS B-20201 January 29, 2020 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “B” – 2020 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive electronic bids for the following listed Public Work: C2020-5 EPDM Roof Replacement – For furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and doing all the work necessary to replace the existing single ply EPDM roofs at each of two city owned facilities, the Police Services Building and Pumping Station #3. POLICE SERVICES BUILDING: This multi-level building has a total roof area of approximately 19,200 square feet. The existing roof is a ballasted EPDM membrane on polyisocyanurate insulation over a metal deck. Ballast to be removed and salvaged. The existing insulation is to remain. A new high density polyisocyanurate board will be laid on top of the existing insulation, mechanical fastened to the deck and a new fully adhered EPDM membrane installed. Some of the roof deck areas are level and the insulation is tapered and other roof areas have a sloped metal deck with flat stock insulation. The existing edge metal will be replaced with new prefabricated edge metal and incidental construction. PUMPING STATION #3: The existing pump station roof is approximately 700 square feet in size and consists of a mechanically fastened EPDM membrane on insulation on a sloped wood deck. This project is a complete tear-off down to the wood deck and installation of new polyisocyanurate insulation, a fully adhered EPDM membrane and prefabricated edge metal flashing. The project also includes masonry work to rebuild the top portion of an existing brick chimney and incidental construction. There is a mandatory prebid meeting at 10:00AM on February 12, 2020 at Police Services Building, 100 N Jackson St, Janesville, WI 53548. Quest project number 6684913 C2020-6 Water & Sewer System Improvements II – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all work necessary for the construction of the following approximate quantities: 7,200 L.F. of existing 1.5”-8” diameter water main replacement and abandonment; 470 L.F. of 12”-15” diameter storm sewer replacement; 3 spot repairs on existing sanitary sewer; replacement of 20 lead/steel water services; replacement or rehabilitation of 140 sanitary structures, water valve structures, storm structures, and storm inlets; and associated street and non-paved surface restoration. Quest project number 6684972 C2020-7 Street Rehabilitation – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 39,300 TONS asphalt paving on existing streets, including 235,000 S.Y. milling; PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PAGE 2 PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “B” – 2020 January 29, 2020 2 14,000 SY Pulverizing; 26,000 S.Y pavement removal; 18,000 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 30,000 TONS aggregate base; 50,000 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; and miscellaneous construction items. Quest project number 6685002 Confidential bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 26th DAY OF FEBRURY, 2020. All bids shall be submitted electronically through QuestCDN vBid Online Bidding ONLY -- the online bid portal will be open for vBid by February 21th, 2020. No paper bids will be accepted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with contract document’s Section 2 ‘Information to Bidders’. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office within 24 hours of apparent low bid if requested. Forms shall show successfully completed, similarly sized and scoped projects, equipment, and proven experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work.
