CD PART 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - Schedule E July 12, 2018 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “E” – 2018 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive electronic bids for the following listed Public Work: C2018-18 Commercial Building Demolition – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment and doing all the work necessary for the complete demolition and site restoration of the commercial building structure located at 20 E. Court Street in downtown Janesville. The lump sum base bid shall include the demolition and proper disposal of the existing brick/block/stone masonry bi-level commercial structure with a structure footprint of approximately 10,800 square feet; supply, place, and compact approximately 3,000 cubic yards of sand fill; supply, place, and fine grade approximately 1,700 square yards each of topsoil, seed, and erosion mat; and miscellaneous construction per the construction documents. A mandatory pre-bid meeting/building open house will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Attendance is mandatory to bid. Quest project number 5862198 C2018-19 Highway 26 Greenbelt Construction – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the excavation and grading of a stormwater channel and detention pond. This work will include clearing and grubbing; approximately 127,000 CY of excavation; 10,000 CY of topsoil strip, stockpile, and respread; 54,000 SY of native seeding; and limited erosion control BMP’s. Quest project number 5862166 Confidential bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 8th DAY OF AUGUST, 2018. All bids shall be submitted electronically through QuestCDN vBid Online Bidding ONLY -- the online bid portal will be open for vBid by August 3rd, 2018. No paper bids will be accepted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with contract document’s Section 2 ‘Information to Bidders’. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. If applicable, Federal Davis Bacon wage rates are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office within 24 hours of apparent low bid if requested. Forms are located in the Contract Documents and also available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (under Government, Departments, Public Works, Engineering, on the left sidebar “Public Works Bid Information”). Forms shall show successfully completed, similarly sized and scoped projects, equipment, and proven experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
