CD PART 1 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - Schedule D April 5, 2018 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “D” – 2018 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive electronic bids for the following listed Public Work: C2018-16 Library Roof Replacement – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary to replace the existing single ply EPDM roof on the library. The library roof is approximately 47,530 square feet in size and consists of an EPDM mechanically fastened membrane on ISO insulation on a sloped deck. The existing ISO insulation is to remain. A new high density ISO board will be overlaid on the existing insulation and a new fully adhered EPDM membrane installed. Existing copper flashing will be removed and reinstalled as part of the membrane replacement. Mandatory prebid meeting on April 18, at 1:00 p.m. gathering in the upper lobby of the Hedberg Public Library, 316 South Main Street, Janesville, WI 53545. Quest project number 5683827 C2018-17 Metropolitan Area Network Fiber Installation – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the extension of the City’s fiber optic network. Project consisting of the following approximately quantities: 25,500 L.F. of 2” dia. SDR11 duct installation, 16 handholes, 235 L.F. of 2” diameter EMT install, indoor & outdoor splices and power meter & light source/OTDR bi-directional testing. Mandatory prebid meeting on April 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Wastewater Treatment Administration Building, 3300 W. Tripp Road, Janesville, WI 53548. All bids shall be submitted electronically through QuestCDN vBid Online Bidding ONLY -- the online bid portal will be open for vBid by April 27th, 2018. No paper bids will be accepted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with contract document’s Section 2 ‘Information to Bidders’. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. Forms shall show successfully completed, similarly sized and scoped projects, equipment, and proven experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
