PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2016
The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work:
2016-1 FIRE STATION NO. 1 DEMOLITION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment and doing all the work necessary for the demolition and complete removal of the existing Fire
Station No. 1 located at 303 Milton Avenue. Base bid will include the removal of the existing fire station and complete site restoration per the construction documents. The work includes,
but is not limited to, demolition, excavation, utility work, street repair, grading, seeding, etc. The base bid shall be lump sum. A mandatory pre-bid site/building open house will
be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at Fire Station #1, 303 Milton Avenue. Attendance is mandatory to bid. (Quest #4210062)
C2016-2 Curb & Gutter and Sidewalk Replacement – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately
39,200 LF curb and gutter replacement; 86,800 SF sidewalk and driveway replacement; 200 SY full depth concrete pavement patching and grass terrace restoration. (Quest #4210133)
C2016-3 Sewer and Water System Improvements – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for construction of water main replacement and abandonment
of approximately 7,000 L.F. existing 1”-6” watermain; replacement of associated lead/steel water services; and replacement or rehabilitation of approximately 900 sanitary, water valve,
storm manholes, and storm inlets; and associated street and non-paved surface restoration. (Quest #4210163)
C2016-4 Downtown Ice Age Trail Repairs – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the complete repair of approximately 400 square yards
of existing asphaltic bike trail including approximately: 240 lf asphalt pavement sawing; 400 square yards asphalt pavement removal and disposal; 140 cubic yards unclassified excavation;
tree root grinding/removal; 300 tons crushed limestone base; new asphalt pavement; and incidentals. (Quest #4210175)
C2016-5 New and Replacement Sidewalk – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 30,000
SF of new concrete sidewalk and 10,800 SF of replacement sidewalk in various locations throughout the City. (Quest #4210190)
C2016-6 Innovation Drive Utility and Street Extension – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for construction of approximately 8000 CY
of excavation; clearing and grubbing; 750 LF of 10” sanitary sewer; 1050 LF of 12” watermain; 100 LF 30” storm sewer; 2100 LF of curb and gutter; 650 tons of bituminous asphalt pavement
with associated aggregate base; 10,000 SY of seeding and associated erosion control. (Quest #4210200)
Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 3RD OF FEBRUARY, 2016. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal
Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for
which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council
Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts
on file with the City Clerk.
No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid
is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder
fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages.
Complete bidding documents will be available on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2016, at the City of Janesville web site, www.ci.janesville.wi.us (under Government, Departments, Public Works,
Engineering, on the left sidebar “Public Works Bid Information”). Plan holder lists will be available at this link as well. The download cost for each contract is $20.00 by inputting

The wage scales to be paid on these projects are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of Wisconsin’s
Statutes.
PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY
20, 2016. Forms are located in the Contract Documents and also available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (under Government, Departments, Public Works, Engineering, on the left sidebar “Public
Works Bid Information”). Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final.
Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work.
The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and
all bids.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 45 days after the actual date of the bid opening.
