Advertisement For Bids Schedule E 31 AUGUST 2015 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “E” – 2015 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2015-15 SANITARY SEWER LINING AND POINT REPAIR – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the trenchless lining repair (cured-in-place lining method) and selective point joint grouting of approximately 20,000 L.F. 8”-30” diameter sanitary and storm sewer, manhole-to-manhole; and approximately fifteen 8”-21” diameter point repairs of varying lengths under existing paved streets. Portable hard drive video of the pipe to be lined will be forwarded only to general contractors. (Quest Project #4077239) C2015-16 CITY HALL BOILER REPLACEMENT For furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and doing all work necessary for replacement of the existing gas-fired hot water boilers with high-efficiency gas-fired hot water boilers and a high-efficiency gas-fired domestic hot water.  Work includes, but is not limited to, all necessary connections and modifications to the existing hot water heat piping and domestic water piping systems, electrical, flue venting, gas piping, and connection to the existing building management system for a complete and functional system.  Scope also includes removal of an existing humidification system for the main building air handling unit, including modification to the existing air handling unit ductwork so that the system is complete and fully functional. (Quest Project #4077327) C2015-17 SENIOR CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT For furnishing all of the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary to remove an existing 6,000 square foot fully adhered EPDM membrane, insulation, edge metal and flashings down to the existing deck and installation with a new fully adhered EPDM membrane, insulation system, flashings and edge metal. (Quest Project #4077466) C2015-18 METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK (MAN) FIBER INSTALLATION For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the extension of the City’s fiber optic network to the new Central Fire Station currently under construction. Project consists of approximately 2,200 L.F. 1.25” diameter SDR 11 duct, 2,200’ of installation of 48 strand fiber thorough duct, installation of one 30”x48”x36” Handhole, 12 indoor splices, 12 outdoor splices, and 12 Power Meter & Light Source / OTDR Bi-directional testing. (Quest Project #4077496) Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 23TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2015. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville City Hall, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2015, except for contract 2015-17 which is due not later than 12:00 NOON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2015. Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
