Advertisement For Bids Schedule B 5 February 2015 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “B” – 2015 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2015-5 SPLASH PAD CONSTRUCTION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the installation of site grading and excavation; 254 T. of dense aggregate base course; groundwater well and mechanicals; 15 L.F. of water lateral piping; electrical conduit and components; 4,759 S.F. of pigmented and non-pigmented concrete pavement; splash pad spray features; 33 L.F. of 8 inch storm sewer; 276 L.F. of 10 inch storm sewer; and site restoration. (Quest Project #3685247) C2015-6 51 & 55 S. RIVER ST BUILDINGS DEMOLITION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for demolition of the two adjacent multistory brick/painted block/painted metal wall panel commercial buildings with a combined footprint of approximately 15,200 square feet, located at 51 & 55 S. River Street in downtown Janesville, including disposal/salvage/recycling of demolition materials from the structures, removal and disposal of approximately 5,200 square feet of asphalt/concrete pavements and sidewalks, and approximately 2,300 S.Y. of imported topsoil, site grading, seeding/mulching, and incidentals. A pre-bid walk through for prequalified bidders is mandatory with this project and is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the project site. Partial funding for this project provided by Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation through a Site Assessment Grant. (Quest Project #3687410) C2015-7 STREET REHABILITATION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 21,500 tons asphalt paving on existing streets, including 149,000 S.Y. cold milling; 15,000 S.Y. asphalt pavement removal; 13,000 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; 5,800 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 11,500 ton limestone base construction; and miscellaneous construction. (Quest Project #3680888) 2015-8 MANHOLE REHABILITATION/RECONSTRUCTION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the structural reconstruction and associated street restoration of approximately 25 existing sanitary sewer manholes on existing paved streets. (Quest Project #3685542) 2015-9 CENTRAL FIRE STATION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of the Central Fire Station to be located southwest of the Centerway and Milton Avenue intersection. Base bid will include approximately 31,530 square feet of new construction. The work includes, but is not limited to, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced concrete, metal fabrications, masonry, aluminum doors and windows, overhead section doors, trench drains, steel joist and decking, finishing carpentry, cold formed metal framing, hollow metal doors/frames, painting, EPDM roofing, casework, finishes, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, site and utility work, landscaping and others. The base bid shall be lump sum. A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM, February 18, 2015 at Fire Station #1, 303 Milton Avenue. A walking tour of the site will follow. Attendance is not mandatory to bid. (Quest Project #3677749) 2015-10 JACKSON & MINERAL POINT IMPROVEMENTS - For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction of approximately 1,400 LF abandon and replace existing 6” diameter watermain and associated valves; 50 LF new watermain; replace or abandon 40 lead/steel water services; construct 50 LF new sanitary sewer, repair or replace approximately 25 sanitary, water valve, storm manholes and inlets; remove or abandon and replace approximately 400 LF of 12”-24” storm sewer; 10,000 SY cold milling; 6,500 SY pavement removal; 2,300 CY excavation; 5,800 TON limestone base; 3,800 LF new and intermittent curb and gutter construction; 3,500 TON asphalt paving; 4,000 SF concrete driveway approach replacement; 6,500 LF epoxy pavement marking; traffic control; and restoration. (Quest Project #3681159) 2015-11 101 N. FRANKLIN STREET DEMOLITION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for demolition of the single story painted brick commercial building with an approximate footprint of 2,700 square feet (excluding partial basement), located at 101 N. Franklin Street in downtown Janesville, including disposal/salvage/recycling of demolition materials from the building and site, and approximately 800 S.Y. of imported topsoil, site grading, seeding/mulching, and incidentals. A pre-bid walk through for prequalified bidders is mandatory with this project and is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 11:00 AM to Noon at the project site. (Quest Project #3687559) Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 4TH DAY OF MARCH, 2015. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville City Hall, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2015. Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
