Advertisement For Bids Schedule D 24 April 2014 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “D” – 2014 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2014-15 TALLMAN HOUSE CONSERVATORY RESTORATION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the historically accurate repair and restoration of approximately: 400 S.F. of exterior porch wood surface; 110 S.F. metal roof prep and paint; approximately 700 L..F. of interior and exterior window glazing; approximately 20 L.F. hydraulic lime mortar joint repointing; miscellaneous modifications and restoration of door and window hardware; individual panels of stain glass window replacement; and incidentals. (Quest Project #3270963) C2014-16 STORM SEWER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS - For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for installation of 18" concrete storm sewer from the intersection of Mineral Point Ave. and Madison St. east approximately 375 ft to the intersection of Mineral Point Ave. and N. Franklin St., then north approximately 710 ft to a receiving structure along the west side of N. Franklin St. Construction will include the connection of storm sewer inlets at Mineral Point Ave and N. Franklin St., installation of 7 manholes, 370 lineal feet of 24” RCP, 720 lineal feet of 18" RCP, 60 lineal feet of 15” RCP, 85 lineal feet of 12" RCP, pavement, curb and sidewalk removal and restoration, terrace restoration and seeding, traffic control, and erosion control.(Quest Project #3264844) C2014-17 TRAXLER PARK SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT & LAGOON MODIFICATIONS – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the removal of an existing railing; replacement of deteriorated sidewalk; filling approximately 400 lineal feet of the Traxler Lagoon at an approximate width of six feet with a combination of extra heavy riprap, coarse gradation limestone base, and heavy riprap; and restoring existing vegetative areas. (Quest Project #3243590) Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 28TH DAY OF MAY, 2014. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The wage scales to be paid on these projects are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of Wisconsin’s Statutes. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2014. The form is contained in the Contract bidding documents and also available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (under Departments & Services drop-down choose Public Works; then Engineering Division; then click Documents tab on left side and choose Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility). Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
