Advertisement For Bids Schedule B 30 January 2014 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE, WI PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “B” – 2014 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2014-5 STREET REHABILITATION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 23,500 tons asphalt paving on existing streets, including 126,500 S.Y. cold milling; 15,000 S.Y. asphalt pavement removal; 2,500 S.Y. cracking and seating concrete pavement; 11,000 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; 3,700 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 7,200 ton limestone base construction; and miscellaneous construction. (Quest Project #30365731) C2014-6 CURB & GUTTER AND SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 12,000 L.F. curb and gutter replacement; 30,000 S.F. sidewalk/driveways; 200 S.Y. full depth concrete pavement patching; grass terrace restoration; 1,000 S.F. replacement concrete sidewalk in various locations. (Quest Project #3065765) C2014-7 MANHOLE REHABILITATION/RECONSTRUCTION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the structural rehabilitation/reconstruction and associated street restoration of approximately 150 existing sanitary sewer, water valve, and storm sewer manholes on existing paved streets. (Quest Project #3075411) C2014-8 ADAMS ROOFING BUILDING DEMOLITION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for demolition of the two story, 10,000 S.F painted block/brick commercial building and attached additions and 3,000 S.F. metal quonset hut located at 411 N. Main Street, and know as the Adams Roofing Building, including disposal of demolition materials and approximately 4,300 S.Y. of site grading and restoration. (Quest Project #3073926) C2014-9 TIF 35 SEWER, WATER, STREET CONSTRUCTION – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for installation of 5200 LF of sanitary sewer; 6000 LF of watermain; 750 LF of storm sewer; 14 street lights; 8600 LF of curb & gutter; 5200 tons of asphalt paving; 14,500 ton of aggregate; 13,200 SY of seeding; 22,000 CY of excavation, and 3 acres of clearing & grubbing. (Quest Project #3069394) C2014-10 CONDE STREET PRE-TREATMENT FACILITY - For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for construction of the pre-treatment facility. Work includes earthwork to construct 2 earthen lagoons (6 million gallon capacity each) geomembrane liner and insulated, gas holding cover, cast–in-place concrete, pre-engineered metal building, bio-gas conditioning, effluent sampling station, stormwater management, sanitary sewer extension, chemical treatment, bio-gas flare, and related pumps, valves, and piping. (Quest Project #3081225) Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 26TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2014. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The wage scales to be paid on these projects are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of Wisconsin’s Statutes. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2014. The form is contained in the Contract bidding documents and also available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (under Departments & Services drop-down choose Public Works; then Engineering Division; then click Documents tab on left side and choose Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility). Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
