Matters Not on the Agenda Rebecca Smith shared an email she received from a frustrated citizen regarding parking at the Janesville Youth Baseball/Softball side of the Complex. The Committee members agreed that parking on the grass and the sides of the roads is a problem because it is difficult to see children if they dart into traffic. The grass parking also creates ruts in the grass surfaces. The ruts make it difficult for the grass to fill in properly. People don’t follow the signs posted stating No Parking on the Grass. The groups try to remind their users via email, posted signs and verbal warnings of the No Parking regulations. JYBSA is also using lath along the grass/road edges to show drivers where they are prohibited from parking. The new tree plantings should also help with reducing the number of drivers parking in the grass. Janesville Youth Baseball/Softball is working with the Janesville Police Department to ticket drivers that violate the parking rules. Rebecca shared that a long term goal may be to construct more parking, but that what currently is present should be sufficient, if not as convenient as what baseball/softball users are used to in comparison to their Woodman Road location. With there being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 PM on a motion by Bob Weilbrenner and seconded by Rachel Joffe. th The next meeting will take place on May 16, 2012 at 5:15 PM in the First Floor Conference Room of the Municipal Building.
