ADJOURN NEXT MEETING DATE: TH WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20, 2012 AT 6:00 PM MUNICIPAL BUILDING FIRST FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM IF UNABLE TO ATTEND, PLEASE CONTACT KARLA KING AT 755-3030 OR kingk@ci.janesville.wi.us GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING TH MINUTES OF APRIL 18, 2012 MUNICIPAL BUILDING FIRST FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM 6:00 PM MEMBERS PRESENT: Rick Berry, Clyde Hoeser and Mary Conway KEMPERSPORTS: Steve Loomis, Joe Schneider and Jake Downing CITY ADMINISTRATION: Rebecca Smith The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mary Conway at the Municipal Building, First Floor Conference Room. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES st The minutes of the March 21, 2012 were approved on a motion by Clyde Hoeser and seconded by Rick Berry. This motion passed unanimously. MANAGER’S REPORT Steve Loomis reported that Riverside Golf Course opened earlier than usual due to the nice weather. There’s been a very good start to the year with approximately 32 season passes sold at Riverside and approximately 25 season passes sold at Blackhawk. Blackhawk improvement projects include the completion of replacing the carpet in the clubhouse and the reconstruction of the bridges being underway. The Health Department inspections went well with the golf courses receiving their highest scores in several years. Currently a new survey is taking place at the courses. MATTERS NOT ON THE AGENDA Mary Conway requested that the bluebird house at the Riverside Golf Course outside deck be moved. Joe Schneider will move it to a new location to avoid having birds getting confused and flying into the glass windows. Rebecca Smith and Steve Loomis discussed attributes of the Permanent Tee Time Program based on the memo that was included with the April meeting items. For the record, Rick Berry shared that users have contacted him with Permanent Tee Time concerns and that is why he brought this topic up for discussion. Rick also shared feedback that he received from users with the Committee members. Following a discussion, a motion was made by Rick Berry and seconded by Clyde Hoeser to expand the Permanent Tee Time Program through the end of September with no change in fees. This motion was approved on a vote of two in favor (Clyde Hoeser and Rick Berry) and one opposed (Mary Conway). Rebecca Smith said that feedback from the Golf Course Advisory Committee would be shared with City Administration. The meeting adjourned at 7:05PM on a motion by Clyde Hoeser and seconded by Rick Berry. This motion passed unanimously. th The next meeting will be held on May 16, 2012 at 6:00 PM.
