Members Present: Conley, Bishop, Rollette, Farrell, Koeppen, Douglas
Members Absent: Lind, Mekeel

II.PUBLIC COMMENT
Jim Pardee – Spoke against the Green Tier Program. Mr. Pardee
indicated he was very pro-environment but felt the City should not
enter an agreement with the WDNR and instead create a Sustainability
Plan with City of Janesville staff. Mr. Pardee indicated that he would
like be a resource to the Committee in this and other endeavors. Mr.
Pardee also indicated that he did not believe in global warming.
Neil Deupree – Spoke in favor of the Green Tier Program. Mr. Deupree
indicated that he spoke to the Mayor of Bayfield and noted Bayfield
had nothing but positive comments for the Green Tier Legacy
Community Program. Deupree recommended to the Committee that
they find local businesses that are in support of the Green Tier Program
and have them show their support to the City Council.
III.CONSIDERATION OF COMMENDATIONS
IV.SUBCOMMITEE UPDATES
a.Green Action Plan update: The Committee discussed a number of
options that could be pursued of the Green Tier Legacy Community
Program was not ratified. Councilmember Farrell remained
confident that the Council would support the Green Tier Legacy
Community Program once the information was received from the
WDNR that the Council requested.
b.Solid Waste Alternatives subcommittee update. Rollette provided
the Committee with a brief update on the status of the Automated
Collection efforts in Janesville.
c.Publicity subcommittee. Conley suggested that the City provide
recycling at the Main Street Entertainment Events in Courthouse
Park.
V.NEW BUSINESS – None.
VI.CITY STAFF UPDATE – Hulick provided an update on the EPA Brownfield
Grant effort underway in the City.
VII.CITY COUNCIL UPDATE – Farrell provided a brief update regarding the
City’s downtown Parking Plaza over the river.
VIII.MATTERS NOT ON THE AGENDA - None
IX.ADJOURNMENT – There was a motion to adjourn at 7:35pm.
