SUBJECT: Action on a Proposed Resolution in Commendation of Robert J.
Schenck’s Service to the City of Janesville (File Res 2012-920)
Executive Summary
At the City Council meeting of June 11, 2012, the following retirement
commendation will be considered under the consent agenda:
1. Robert J. Schenck for twenty-five years of service with the City of
Janesville (File Resolution Number 2012-920).
Robert will not be attending the June 11, 2012, Council meeting.
Robert began working for the City of Janesville on October 20, 1986,
as a Firefighter/Paramedic in the Janesville Fire Department. He was
reclassified as a Driver on May 6, 1995. Robert also worked as a Fire
Inspector from January 8, 2000, until January 3, 2004.
Robert’s retirement date was June 3, 2012.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of File Resolution 2012-920.

RESOLUTION NO. 2012-920
Whereas,
Robert J. Schenck is retiring from City of Janesville
employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the
community for twenty-five years; retiring as a Driver-Operator with the City of Janesville
Fire Department; and
Whereas,
during Robert J. Schenck’s employment with the City of
Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious
devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity,
honesty, and dedication; and
Whereas,
it is desired that such commendable service to the City of
Janesville be properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved
that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Robert J. Schenck for
his twenty-five years of loyal public service.
