Jackson Street, Janesville, WI Present: Britten Grafft, James Dumke, Bruce Dennis, Stacie Thompson, Tim Maahs, Susan Thompson, Bob Kimball City Staff: Gale Price Absent: Guests: Jackie Wood and Marthea Riley Call to Order 1.: Bruce called the meeting to order at 5:15 PM Comments from the Public: 2.None. 3.Minutes of the February 27, 2012 regular meeting “C”: A motion was made by Susan and seconded by Tim to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried. 4.Tallman Arts Festival – August 5, 2012 a.Gale has submitted the application b.There will probably not be a staff member present as Gale will be out of town c.Gale will bring the boards to the next meeting for us to examine 5.Historic Preservation Expo- May 5, 2012 a.Location will be at the Helen Jeffris Museum b.Stacie to check with Joel to see if we can meet at the museum next meeting. c.Possible presenters i.Joel and Chuck Ryberg 1.Research for archives ii.Viking Restoration iii.Rich Fletcher iv.Den and Judy Adler- photograph book d.Tim to make a list of exhibitors (will bring to meeting) e.Historic Preservation Awards i.Gale with check with website coordinator to put it up again ii.Gazette will be contacted 1.Award Categories: Individual, Residential, and Commercial f.8 AM set up with exhibitors from 9 AM-1 PM 6.Matters not on the Agenda a.515 Saint Lawrence (corner of Jackman) i.Lawsuit has been brought against the city and the zoning board of appeals 1.He is asking to throw out historic preservation ordinance 2.He is asking for relief from proceedings ii.Gale indicated this will be a long drawn out process b.Lovejoy Mansion i.Investigation to break mansion out of condo plat for interested buyer ii.No foreclosure on the property but liens against the property make it a difficult situation 7.Next meeting—March 26, 2012 Adjournment: 8.A motion to adjourn was made at 6:24 PM by Tim and seconded by Susan.
