Please find below a portion of the items comprising the meeting agenda with additional information
provided.
Approval of November 11, 2011 meeting minutes
Please find attached the minutes of the last meeting for the committee’s review and approval.
Selection of recommended nominees for the following Boards, Commissions and Committees
There are several upcoming vacancies for Janesville’s boards, commissions and committees. Please
find attached a fact sheet for each committee’s vacancies. Also attached are the application forms for
the individuals interested in serving. Current members eligible for re-appointment or alternate
members interested in becoming voting members are marked for your information. Staff sent letters
to board, commission and committee chairs asking them to share comments about any members
eligible for re-appointment and any thoughts regarding attributes they would like to see in new
members. Received comments are attached for your information. Also, please find attached a chart
depicting the residency rules for each city committee.
While the Citizens Advisory Committee on Appointments is not officially authorized to make
recommendations for nominees to the Police and Fire Commission and the Plan Commission, the
City Manager has asked this committee to provide a recommendation regarding these appointments.
Please find attached fact sheets and applications for these vacancies.
Following any committee discussion, staff asks the committee recommend applicants for nomination
for these vacancies. Members may make a motion to nominate an applicant; once a second is
received, a vote will be taken. A simple majority is needed (3 of 5 votes).
