Advertisement For Bids Schedule A 27 December 2011 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2012 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2012-1 Ice Arena Addition & Renovation – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of the City of Janesville Ice Arena Addition and Renovation to be located at 821 Beloit Avenue in Janesville, WI 53548. Base Bid will include approximately 25,642 S.F. of addition/renovation. The work includes, but is not limited to, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced concrete, metal fabrication, masonry, aluminum doors and windows, rolling doors, overhead sectional doors, trench drains, steel joists and decking, finish carpentry, hollow metal doors/frames, painting, metal wall panels, EPDM roofing, plastic laminate countertops, curb and gutter, sidewalks, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and others. The base bid also includes the removal and reinstallation of the ice rink and existing dasher boards. (Quest Project #1815957) C2012-2 Landfill Closure – Phase 1 – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, supervision and doing all the work necessary and required to acquire and approve a DNR compliant clay site; shape waste for placement of clay; 15,000 C.Y. in-place 2-ft. clay cap layer on 5% slope and 3:1 sideslope; 54,000 C.Y. rooting zone material; 5,000 C.Y. topsoil placement; 20,000 S.Y. smooth and textured geomembrane and geotextile; 20,000 S.Y. seeding with mulch and fertilizer; surface water control features including 760 L.F. diversion berm; 525 ft. of 18” downslope flume; 1,300 L.F. 4” HDPE perforated collection pipe with 7 4” solid discharge pipes; 4,600 L.F. drainage ditch; 130 C.Y. rip-rap; 1 storm inlet manhole; 15 S.Y. asphalt paving; extend 4 6” PVC gas wells; install 1,500 L.F. various HDPE gas transfer piping; adjust various HDPE leachate cleanouts and headwells; abandon existing leachate pumping manhole; construct new leachate pumping manhole with associated electrical and plumbing; 220 L.F. various CMP storm sewer; 3,780 S.Y. erosion mat; 225 L.F. new 6”x3” dual containment HDPE forcemain; bypass leachate pumping; construct 2,500 L.F. gravel roadway; and incidentals to be shown on the plan. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 25TH DAY OF Sealed bids will be received until JANUARY, 2012 .All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53547, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The wage scales to be paid on these projects are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of Wisconsin’s Statutes. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms in accordance with Section 66.0901(2) Wisconsin Statutes 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not later than JANUARY 11, 2012 . Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
