a."Locally owned and operated" business listing (Backenkeller)
Committee member Backenkeller suggested the idea of creating a
locally owned business listing. A brief discussion ensued regarding
the scope of this project and its potential implications. Chairperson
Swanson indicated that he did not feel this project was within the
Committee purview due to the Committee’s inability to effectively
gauge how “local” a company truly was (i.e. where products and
merchandise are shipped from).
b.Natural Step Discussion - proposal to read and review Natural Step
over several meetings (Swanson)
Chairperson Swanson suggested that the Committee undertake a
Natural Step Study circle of its own. This study circle would consist of

volunteered to lead this effort.
