Advertisement For Bids Schedule A 27 January 2011 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2011 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2011-1 Street Resurfacing – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 19,000 tons asphalt paving on existing streets, including 111,000 S.Y. cold milling; 7,200 S.Y. asphalt pavement removal; 16,000 S.Y. cracking and seating concrete pavement; 5,500 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; 4,500 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 4,000 ton limestone base construction; 2,600 L.F. off-street asphalt bike trail; and miscellaneous construction. C2011-2 Curb & Gutter and Sidewalk Replacement – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 15,000 L.F. curb and gutter replacement; 32,000 S.F. sidewalk/driveways; 100 S.Y. full depth concrete pavement patching; grass terrace restoration; 450 S.F. replacement concrete sidewalk in various locations. C2011-3 Manhole Rehabilitation/Reconstruction – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the structural rehabilitation/reconstruction and associated street restoration of approximately 150 existing sanitary sewer, water valve, and storm sewer manholes on existing paved streets. C2011-4 New Sidewalk – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of 74,000 S.F. of new concrete sidewalk in various locations. C2011-5 South Pearl Street Reconstruction – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of 8,000 S.Y. asphalt pavement removal; 210 L.F. loop detector conduit; 5,000 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 5,250 L.F. curb and gutter replacement; 6,100 S.F. concrete flatwork; 10,000 ton crushed stone base; 2,800 ton asphalt paving; 4,800 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; traffic control; and miscellaneous construction. This is a Local Road Improvement Program project. 1 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PAGE 2 OF 3 PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2011 27 JANUARY 2011 C2011-6 Black Bridge Watermain – For furnishing all pipe, fittings, materials, and equipment, and doing all of the work necessary for the construction and completion of 5,200 L.F. 24” watermain; 50 L.F. 16” watermain; 100 L.F. 12” watermain; 300 L.F. 6”-8” watermain; 5,800 S.Y. asphalt pavement restoration; and curb and gutter, driveway, sidewalk and terrace restoration and erosion control practices. C2011-7 Palmer Drive & Camden Parking Lot Reconstruction – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 5,600 S.Y. asphalt pavement removal; 1,000 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 2,300 L.F. concrete curb and gutter; 1,100 S.F. concrete sidewalk; 350 L.F. storm sewer; 6,500 ton crushed limestone base; 2,000 ton asphalt paving; 1,800 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; traffic control; and miscellaneous construction. 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 23RD Sealed bids will be received until DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2011 .All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53548, and enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. WEDNESDAY, Plans and detailed specifications are scheduled to be available on FEBRUARY 2, 2011 . Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and plan holder lists are posted on the City’s web site. Forms are located in the Contract Documents and available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (Documents & Maps; Document Library; Select a Department; Engineering; Bidder Proof of Responsibility). Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The City’s decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest responsible bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
