Club Reports
Youth Football received approval from the School District regarding the locations of
registration for Youth Football.
Rock Soccer’s traveling teams have been winning their games. Both teams are full. Fall
registration will begin soon. Rock Soccer and Youth Football are working together on
the water meter situation.
Youth Baseball reported that the construction of the concession stand is going well.
Girls Softball will begin playing there in June. The backstops are going up soon. Kids
have been using the park road as a raceway and discussion has been taking place
regarding their concerns to resolve the issue. Janesville Youth Baseball, Becca Smith
and Janesville Transit System met to discuss bus service to the Sports Complex. Due
to road construction and closure of Ruger Avenue this summer the idea has been put
on hold for the summer, but will be examined for implementation in the fall provided JTS
can make the routing work. Further discussion will take place this fall when Ruger
Avenue re-opens.
The YMCA soccer program will finish soon. A British Soccer Camp will take place over
the summer. Softball registration is taking place. Soccer registration is about the same
th
as last year. The YMCA and Rock Soccer are working together to coordinate a 5
grade league which Rock Soccer would coordinate. The YMCA soccer program ends at
th
4 grade and then players would continue with the Rock Soccer program.
Update on Advertising
Rebecca Smith distributed an advertising policy for the Youth Sports Complex to the
members. She asked the members to review and further discussion will take place at
the June meeting. This policy will include the concept that the signs will recognize
donors in perpetuity.
June Meeting Date
Rebecca Smith asked if the members would be able to change the June meeting date
thrd
to possibly either June 9 or June 23. Sue Wesson will check the calendar and let
Rebecca know. Rebecca will in turn let the Committee members know of the date
change.
Matters Not on the Agenda
It was reported that there are tire tracks on the fields at the Complex. Rebecca Smith
will let the Police Department know and they could possibly direct patrols to the area.
Suggestions were made to use fake cameras or maybe signs and signage with
restriction wording. Rebecca Smith will ask the Police Department for suggestions and
report back to the Committee.
There being no further business, Steve Ellis made a motion, seconded by Bob
Weilbrenner to adjourn the meeting. This motion passed unanimously and the meeting
was adjourned at 5:45 PM.
