Club Reports
Bob Weilbrenner stated that the Soccer Club would have nine traveling soccer teams of
different age groups and that there would be more teams by the fall. He also said that they had
begun using online registration. Bob Weilbrenner stated that the Soccer Club had secured a
grant to help pay for the sprinklers that had been installed last fall at the complex fields, and the
club would continue to look at grant opportunities.
Dave Javan gave an update on the Youth Soccer Program. He stated that practices would start
soon and that the bathroom facilities and trash cans would need to be available. Tom Malone
stated he would inform the Parks Department. Dave Javan stated that the Youth Soccer and
the Soccer Club were looking into collaborating for summer camps.
Trevor Wallace gave an update of the programs at the YMCA.
Sue Wesson stated that Youth Football was working on fundraisers in order to keep registration
costs the same. Registration would start at the beginning of June and leagues would begin play
in August.
Steve Ellis stated that registration for baseball was slightly down and that two little league teams
had to be eliminated. However, the older age group leagues saw an increase in registration.
He stated that the girls would play at the new facilities at the Complex as long as it was
determined that the fields were ready.
Matters Not on the Agenda
The members asked for an update on the issue of the Sports Complex signs and asked if the
issue would have to go back to the City Council.
Members have noticed many golf balls on the field. Rebecca Smith will look into possible sign
locations and the cost for the groups.
There being no further business, Trevor Wallace made a motion, seconded by Dave Javan to
adjourn the meeting at 5:40 PM.
