Approval of October 4, 2010 meeting minutes
Please find attached the minutes of the last meeting for the committee’s review and approval.
Selection of recommended nominees for the following Boards, Commissions and Committees
There are two vacancies on the Sustainable Janesville Committee. Please find attached a fact sheet
for this committee. Also attached are the application forms for the individuals interested in serving.
Individuals interested in serving on any committee are noted for your reference.
Following any committee discussion, staff asks the committee recommend an applicant for
nomination. Members may make a motion to nominate an applicant; once a second is received, a
vote will be taken. A simple majority is needed (3 of 5 votes).

Meeting of the City of Janesville Citizen Advisory Committee on Appointments held in the
Municipal Building first floor conference room on October 4, 2010.
Committee Members Present: Ron Combs, Judith Detert-Moriarity, David Riemer, and Mary
Willmer-Sheedy
Committee Members Absent: Shena Kohler and Larry Squire

Roll Call
The meeting began at approximately 3:30PM with Combs, Detert-Moriarity, Riemer and
Willmer-Sheedy present.
Approval of July 7, 2010 meeting minutes
Detert-Moriarity motioned approval of the minutes. Riemer seconded the motion and the vote
was 4-0-0 in favor.
Selection of recommended nominees and alternate nominee for the following Boards,
Commissions and Committees
Historic Commission
Following committee discussion, Riemer motioned to recommend Bob Kimball to fill the
voting member vacancy ending in 2012 and Britten Grafft to fill the voting member vacancy
ending in 2013. Combs seconded the motion and the vote was 4-0-0 in favor.
Combs motioned to recommend Matt Honold if Bob Kimball or Britten Grafft are not able to
accept the appointment. Detert-Moriarity seconded the motion and the vote was 4-0-0 in
favor.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:40PM.
These minutes are not official until approved by the Citizen Advisory Committee on
Appointments.

Fact Sheet for Sustainable Janesville Committee
Purpose
The committee’s purpose is to advise the City Administration and the City Council on
issues of sustainability.
Vacancies
2 vacancies (terms expire in 2011)
Eligibility to Serve
To be eligible for an appointment to a committee, individuals must be a resident of the
City of Janesville and have interest or knowledge in the committee’s subject matter.
Volunteers should also be available to meet at the committee’s usual meeting time.
