Approval of May 27, 2010 meeting minutes
Please find attached the minutes from the May 27, 2010 meeting for the committee’s review and
approval.
Selection of recommended nominees and alternate nominee for the following Boards,
Commissions and Committees
There are vacancies on the Leisure Services Advisory and Sustainable Janesville Committees.
Please find attached a fact sheet for each committee. Also attached are the application forms for the
individuals interested in serving. Individuals interested in serving on any committee are noted for your
reference.
Following any committee discussion, staff asks the committee recommend an applicant for
nomination. Members may make a motion to nominate an applicant; once a second is received, a
vote will be taken. A simple majority is needed (3 of 5 votes).

Meeting of the City of Janesville Citizen Advisory Committee on Appointments held in the
Municipal Building first floor conference room on May 27, 2010.
Committee Members Present: Shena Kohler, David Riemer, Larry Squire, Mary Willmer-
Sheedy and Ron Combs

Roll Call
The meeting began at approximately 3:33PM with Kohler, Riemer, Squire, Willmer-Sheedy
and Combs present.
Selection of Committee Chair
Combs motioned Mary Willmer-Sheedy as Chair of the Citizen Advisory Committee on
Appointments. Squire seconded the motion and the vote was 5-0-0 in favor.
Approval of March 17, 2010 meeting minutes
Riemer motioned approval of the minutes. Squire seconded the motion and the vote was 5-
0-0 in favor.
Selection of recommended nominees and alternate nominee for the following Boards,
Commissions and Committees
Oakhill Cemetery Ad Hoc Committee
Following committee discussion, Riemer motioned to recommend Gordon Engebretson to fill
the at-large voting member vacancy on the Oakhill Cemetery Ad Hoc Committee. If Gordon
Engebretson is not able to accept the appointment, the Committee recommends Ed Martinez
fill the at-large voting member vacancy. Combs seconded the motion and the vote was 5-0-0
in favor.
Matters Not on the Agenda
Staff asked the committee to schedule another meeting due to a new vacancy on the Leisure
Services Advisory Committee. Group consensus was to schedule the next meeting for July 7
at 3:30PM.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:46PM.
These minutes are not official until approved by the Citizen Advisory Committee on
Appointments.

Purpose
This committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the
Leisure Services Department and the Administration on matters concerning planning,
development, operation, maintenance, and promotion of the programs, facilities, and
parks based upon the community's needs and interest.
