II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES “C”
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
Neil Deupree spoke on behalf of the League of Women Voters Climate Change
Committee. Mr. Deupree asked if the Sustainable Committee would like to
participate in a Natural Step Study Circle. The Study Circle consists of one 90-
minute session each week for approximately 6-weeks. The program will be held
in conjunction with Sustain Dane.
Allison Rollette asked that the Sustainable Committee show support for the
upcoming vote on the “Chicken Ordinance” at the next City Council meeting
(February 22).

VI. OLD BUSINESS
1.
Update COJ Water Conservation Plan (30 min)
Hulick provided the Committee with an update by Tom Malone regarding the
progress of the Water Conservation Plan. Hulick indicated that the plan
should be done by May 2010
VIII. CITY STAFF UPDATE
1.
COJ plan for complying with banning eligible electronic devices, and cell
phones or other phones with a video display as of September 1, 2010 from the
landfill (30 min)
Chairman Mills provided an update from Operations Director John Whitcomb
regarding the City’s compliance with the E-Waste Ban. Mills indicated that the
Janesville Landfill no longer accepts E-Waste and that there are several local
outlets that provide this service.
IX. CITY COUNCIL UPDATE
Perrotto indicated that the City Council will be holding a study session on
Sanitation at some point in the near future and that he would keep the Committee
informed of it’s scheduling.
