Advertisement For Bids - Bid Schedule A-2010 28 January 2010 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2010 The City of Janesville, Wisconsin hereby gives notice that it will receive sealed bids for the following listed Public Work: C2010-1 Street Resurfacing – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 22,500 tons asphalt paving on existing streets, including 110,000 S.Y. cold milling; 4,500 S.Y. asphalt pavement pulverizing; 2,000 S.Y. cracking and seating concrete pavement; 15,000 L.F. epoxy pavement markings; 4,000 C.Y. unclassified excavation; 8,000 ton limestone base construction; and miscellaneous construction. C2010-2Curb & Gutter Replacement – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of approximately 12,500 L.F. curb and gutter replacement; 23,500 S.F. sidewalk/driveways; 400 S.Y. full depth concrete pavement patching; and grass terrace restoration. C2010-3Manhole Rehabilitation/Reconstruction – For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the structural rehabilitation/reconstruction and associated street restoration of approximately 80 existing sanitary sewer, water valve, and storm sewer manholes on existing paved streets. 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, THE 24TH Sealed bids will be received until DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2010. All bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk’s Office, City of Janesville Municipal Building, 18 North Jackson Street, P.O. Box 5005, Janesville, Wisconsin, 53548, and shall be enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder and contract title for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon, the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. Bids will be opened in the Council Chambers at 2:01 P.M. on the same date. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. No bid will be read or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. 1 PART #1 CITY OF JANESVILLE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS PAGE 2 . PUBLIC WORKS BID SCHEDULE “A” – 2010 28 JANUARY 2010 The form of contract and bond and questionnaire to show bidder's proof of responsibility in accordance with Section 66.29(2) Wisconsin Statutes, as well as the plans and specifications, are on file and may be obtained at the City Engineer's Office, Municipal Building. WEDNESDAY, Plans and detailed specifications are scheduled to be available on FEBRUARY 3, 2010 . Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and plan holder list are posted on the City’s web site. The wage scales to be paid on these projects are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk’s Office, and all work is subject to Section 66.293 of Wisconsin’s Statutes. PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY forms must be filed in the Engineering Division Office not 12:00 NOON, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010 later than . Forms are located in the Contract Documents and available at www.ci.janesville.wi.us (Documents & Maps; Document Library; Engineering Department; Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility). Forms shall show sufficient financial ability, equipment, and experience to perform the Contract. The decision regarding qualifications shall be final. Said work shall be commenced by, and shall be entirely completed by, the dates set in the proposal for the specific work. The determination of the lowest and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
