Election of Officers
Four members have their current term expiring this fall: Sue Wesson; Trevor Wallace; Dave Ellis; and
Craig Schuenke. Sue, Trevor and Dave have indicated a willingness to stay on the committee. Craig
shared that he will definitely be on the committee until at least January 2010; at that point, the Rock
Soccer club may choose a new representative.
At the October 1 meeting, I will ask the committee to select a new chair and vice-chair.

Club Reports
The YMCA reported that their programs are going well. The T-ball program will end at
the end of July. The University of Wisconsin soccer coach will be doing a soccer clinic
thstth
on September 14, 21, and 28 this fall. Registration can be done on the YMCA
website.
Rock Soccer has soccer skill leagues continuing through the summer. The high school
players will be using the fields two nights a week this summer. Rock Soccer is looking
at putting in new sponsor signs on the soccer fields. They would also like to rent a
separate storage pod. The pod would be parked near the building and the tree line, not
out in the open. The Coalition members at the meeting didn’t seem to have any
concerns regarding this request. Rock Soccer will have someone seed the clover
spray.
Janesville Youth Baseball has completed their season and construction is underway.
The plan is for them to be able to play at the Complex next year.
The meeting was called to order at 4:55 PM by Vice-Chairperson Steve Ellis at the
Youth Sports Complex.

The minutes of the June 9, 2009 meeting were approved unanimously on a motion by
Bob Weilbrenner and seconded by Jim Carothers.
Update of Use of YSC from the Fourth of July Activities
During the week following the Fourth of July activities, the YMCA had to cancel soccer
games 1.5 hours before their start time which was disappointing. Rock Soccer felt that
the kettle corn vendor who was there on behalf of Rock Soccer should not have had to
pay a vendor fee to Odd Fellows. They wished that the family night with the soccer
games would have had more participation. The Coalition also felt that not having a
carnival would alleviate a lot of issues. The consensus was that the Coalition would
th
rather have the 4 of July activities moved back to Traxler Park. In the future, the
Coalition would like the organizing group to come to some of their meetings if they
th
would ever wish to hold the 4 of July event at the Complex again.
The meeting adjourned at 5:15PM
The next meeting is scheduled for October 1, 2009 at 4:45PM in the Municipal Building
First Floor Conference Room.

Sue Wesson,
On behalf of St. Paul’s Lutheran School, I would like to thank you and your organization
for allowing us to use the Youth Sports Complex for our cross country meet again this
year. We had a beautiful day and things ran very smoothly. We had 356 runners
participate this year. You can find results from the meet on our website:
www.stpaulsjanesville.com.
I want to apologize for the miscommunication that took place this year. At the end of last
school year, I was under the impression that I had contacted the correct people to reserve
use of the field.
We did our best to clean up after the meet concluded. I hope that it met with your
standards. If not, let me know what we can do to make it up to you.
th
Our hope is to continue using the Youth Sports Complex for future meets. Our 30
annual meet will fall again at the start of September. As soon as I know the date, I will
get in touch with you.
Please pass our thanks along to the heads of the different groups at the Complex. The use
of the area is very much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mr. Mark O. Fenrick
